The report describing in facts and figures Valagro’s commitment towards a sustainable future for people and nature is now online.
Atessa, 18th November 2021 - Valagro, a leading company in the production and marketing of biostimulants and other specialty nutrients for crops, has published the new edition of its annual Sustainability Report.
In a simple language and in a user-friendly digital format, the document narrates Valagro’s commitment to a fully sustainable digital transformation, reporting the social, economic and environmental performances of the Group recorded up to 31 December 2020.
The report narrates an important and challenging year for Valagro. On one side, the global pandemic that has put the whole world to the test and that has seen Valagro multiply its efforts for the safety of its individuals and of the local community; on the other, the opening of a new chapter with the entry into the Syngenta Group.
Amongst the highlighted data, as usual, are the results obtained in the continuous improvement of processes and products aimed at the limitation – and where possible minimization – of the environmental footprint of Valagro’s activities. Furthermore, to complete the picture, other important improvements conducted on a global level are described, related to individual safety, training and welfare. For the sake of objectivity and comparability, the performances of the various functions are reported according to the international standards dictated by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
As every year, the Sustainability Report is for Valagro a fundamental tool, as transparent and objective as possible, to share the Group’s commitment towards a future that is better and more respectful of the environment and of its inhabitants, a goal that is in full synergy with the Sustainable Development Goals and of the EU Farm to Fork Strategy.
Giuseppe Natale, CEO of Valagro: “The Sustainability Report is an instrument of paramount importance for Valagro, as it allows us to keep track, year after year, of what we have achieved – and of what is yet to be done – towards our goal to create a sustainable future for people and nature. For this reason, it is a commitment we carry on with consistency and rigor, reporting our performances according to objective international standards for the sake of clarity and comparability. The ecological transition takes its first steps right from here, from the individual commitment of single companies, and it is our duty to be part of the change.”
