As Jonathan Brown, Global Head Seedcare and Biologicals, recalls in his article on LinkedIn, quoting the well-known African proverb if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together, this is a philosophy that we can certainly apply to innovation.
A common misunderstanding is relegating innovation to a bright mind, with a brilliant intuition, that changes the whole game, but the reality is often different from this. Of course, great ideas are essential but so it’s partnering with other players, multiplying the ideas, and making the most of knowledge and technology from both sides.
This is a crucial aspect of innovation in agriculture where science and technology as well as a fast market penetration are key elements to meet the needs of farmers, especially today when abiotic stresses, soil erosion due to the effects of climate change, the spread of pests and diseases as well as the threat of resistance, hobble the productivity of their crops.
We have recently announced new Syngenta’s partnerships with Lithos Crop Protect, Intrynsix Bio, and Ginkgo, aimed at bringing faster into growers’ hands biological innovations that can help them implement more sustainable farming practices, on this occasion Jonathan Brown shared his thoughts on being a partner of choice to innovate, and change the future of agriculture, find out more on LinkedIn.
