The Environmental Product Declaration

Due to a current review of the Product Category Rules (PCR) for biostimulant products by EPD International, biostimulants are momentarily out of the certification scope. Therefore, at the moment, our EPD certificate is not available.

While waiting for the new rules to enter in force, Syngenta Biologicals continues its commitment to sustainability by calculating the carbon footprint of its products according to ISO 14067:2018, allowing the company to track and reduce greenhouse gas emissions while building a data foundation for a future Life Cycle Assessment / EPD program.

What is EPD certification and why it is important?

The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is an independently verified document that quantifies the environmental impact of a product or service along all its life cycle and communicates it in a transparent and comparable way, facilitating comparison between products fulfilling the same function.

The impact of a product is measured by means of the Life Cycle Assessment methodology, an objective procedure which takes into account all the inputs and outputs associated with its life cycle, from raw materials extraction to the reuse, recycling or disposal of final waste.
